About this event
The Church Street Marketplace tree lighting is how Burlington officially starts its holiday season on the city's outdoor pedestrian mall. Carolers sing holiday favorites along the Marketplace, then a production of a classic holiday play leads up to the big moment: 100,000 lights switching on across the Marketplace, including the 30-plus-foot tree. Through the holidays the street stays decked out, a scene the Marketplace likens to a Hallmark movie.
Our take: Arrive early for the carolers and the play; the lights go on at 6 p.m. sharp.
