About this event
Historic Germanna hosts the Salubria Oktoberfest and History Faire on the grounds of Historic Salubria, a 1757 house at 19173 Salubria Lane in Stevensburg, in Culpeper County. Living history fills the grounds: historical figures, Revolutionary-era trades, colonial dancing, and period games. Visitors can walk the house at their own pace with guides inside, then settle in for regional live music, food trucks, and a beer garden of German and locally produced beer and cider. Children get crafts and archaeology activities. Folding chairs and blankets are welcome on the grass, and shoes should suit uneven ground.
Our take: Wear shoes for the grass and walk the 1757 house before you settle at the beer garden.
Parking
Parking is on grass and unpaved areas. Accessible parking for vehicles with a valid permit. Follow signs off Route 3/Germanna Highway.
Good to know
Rain or shine. Dogs must be leashed; only trained service animals may enter the house. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Alcohol buyers must be 21 with a photo ID. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the house.
