About this event

Foods & Feasts of Colonial Virginia spreads food history across Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. At Jamestown, venison, turkey and other game roast over an open fire in Paspahegh Town, interpreters bake bread in a Devon oven and cook pudding, pies and pottage on the open hearth at James Fort, and the ships' pier shows sailors' fare of salted fish, biscuit and dried foods. At Yorktown, cooks turn rations into soups and stews in a Continental Army encampment and prepare 18th-century dishes at a Revolution-era farm. Children 5 and under get in free.

Our take: Time your Yorktown stop for 11 or 3, when the Continental Army crew fires its artillery.
