Taquitock Festival

Jamestown Settlement presents the Taquitock Festival in partnership with the 11 state and federally recognized Virginia Indian Tribes, with music, dance, games, art and films that celebrate Virginia Indigenous history and culture. On the Mall, visitors can stroll among booths of original Indigenous artworks and arts and crafts demonstrations and watch dancers share the cultural heritage of their nations through dancing and drumming, while native storytellers share traditional tales at the gazebo. Indoors, the Robins Foundation Theater hosts the Pocahontas Reframed Film Festival of documentaries told from an Indigenous lens, followed by a tribal leadership panel discussion.

Our take: The festival is included with Jamestown Settlement admission, so leave time for the museum's re-creations of Paspahegh Town, the 1607 English ships and a colonial fort.
