About this event
Knoxville's Christmas parade dates to 1928, when the first Santa Claus Parade sent merchant floats up Gay Street, and radio station WIVK has hosted it since 1972 with help from the City of Knoxville. Past parades have drawn tens of thousands of spectators downtown, with floats and marching bands winding through the heart of the city and the event broadcast live. The 2025 parade stepped off at Gay and Main streets and took a new route that finished on Jackson Avenue near Covenant Health Park.
Our take: Watch from Gay Street in the heart of downtown, where the parade has traditionally drawn its biggest crowds.
