About this event
The Turner County Fair in Parker is South Dakota's oldest running fair, a free-gate, four-day fair with a wide array of 4-H exhibits, commercial exhibits, a midway, contests and grandstand events. Run by a 30-member volunteer board with more than 200 volunteers during fair week, it gives local 4-H members a place to show their projects and serves as a last fling before summer ends and school starts.
Our take: Come hungry: the fair is known for lamb chislic, tri-tip and pork loin sandwiches, homemade ice cream and pie, and elephant ears.
