About this event
The Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade strolls down Frankford Avenue, known locally as the Ave, in Northeast Philadelphia to celebrate the community and the local businesses its organizers call the financial backbone of the neighborhood. Many generations come back for it each fall, whether they still live nearby or have moved away, and homemade floats compete for a ribbon for the best parade-themed float. Last year's parade ran from Rhawn Street to Knorr Street with string bands, live music, dancing, military groups and costumed characters, and Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived on the Ladder 20 fire truck.
