About this event
Blood Prison fills the Ohio State Reformatory at 100 Reformatory Road in Mansfield, a prison that opened in 1896 and operated for nearly a century. Steel cell blocks and stone corridors now hold more than 100 characters, live performers, and sets in the Warden's Widow's upstairs manor, the front of the house, the east and west cell blocks, and the basement. The 6-foot-7 Warden's Widow returns. The site is also known for The Shawshank Redemption and Inkcarceration. A daytime Beyond the Scare Tour, lights on, covers sets including the sub-basement and Jesus Room.
Our take: If you want the building's history without the night scares, book the daytime Beyond the Scare Tour instead of an evening slot.
Good to know
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Limited time slots; advance tickets encouraged. Tour is ages 8 and older and includes blood and gore. Touch Pass adds character contact.
