Prototype Festival

Prototype is a New York festival of contemporary opera and music-theater, produced by Beth Morrison Projects and co-founded in 2013 with HERE. The festival presents a wide spectrum of new work, from intimate black-box experiences to larger chamber opera productions, with composers, librettists and performers from across genres, backgrounds and cultures, including groundbreaking pieces by international artists. The New York Times has called it utterly essential, and the Associated Press counts it among the world's top festivals of contemporary opera and theater.
