About this event
The Komen Greater New York City Race for the Cure starts at Foley Square in Lower Manhattan, with a walk of about two miles that takes participants across the Brooklyn Bridge. It is a walk-only event with no route for runners, and people can also take part virtually. Money raised goes toward meeting the most critical needs in local communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer, and an interactive opening ceremony gets the day going.
Our take: Bring the dog, since leashed dogs are welcome on the course and in the event area.
Good to know
On-site registration opens 8 a.m.; opening ceremony 9:15 a.m.; walk begins 9:30 a.m. Registration $40 adults, $30 under 18.
