Lakeside Fall Festival at Prospect Park

Lakeside Fall Festival takes over the LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park for a month of pumpkins, a corn maze, carnival games, and Halloween photo stops. The pumpkin patch is a walk through cornstalks, hay bales, and autumn displays, with a painting station for pumpkins guests bring home. The corn maze is a family walkthrough, and the midway has games such as Krazy Kans, Tip a Troll, and Zap a Mole, plus sports challenges and child-safe axe throwing with foam Velcro axes. Face painting is only on weekends. The Haunted Hotel is a separate ticketed walk of about 25 minutes through a zombie-overtaken hotel, recommended for ages 13 and up. Indoor tarot readings and seasonal food round out the grounds.

Our take: Go on a weekend if you want face painting and a full day, since weekday hours start in the afternoon and face painting is weekend-only.
