About this event
Downtown Raleigh's tree lighting gathers the city in Moore Square for the moment the tree switches on. The Downtown Raleigh Alliance pairs the lighting with a holiday vendor market of local sellers, so the evening doubles as an early gift-shopping stop. The alliance says the night draws more than 4,000 people.
Our take: With thousands in one square, come when the vendor market opens and shop before the crowd builds for the lighting.
