About this event
The Raleigh Christmas Parade is downtown’s long-running holiday procession, organized since 1944 by the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association / Shop Local Raleigh. Bands, floats, and local entries fill the route while nearby hotels and holiday specials turn parade day into a broader downtown outing. Parade history pages on the association site underline how deep the tradition runs. Claim a sidewalk spot early and skim the parade-day map for cross-streets with better sightlines.
Our take: Check the association’s parade-day fun list for nearby specials so the wait before step-off still feels festive.
