About this event

German food, live music, and games fill the biergartens across four weekends, split between the LoSo and Ballantyne locations. One-liter glass boots, called Das Boot, go out filled with award-winning brews, and beer also comes in one-liter and half-liter mugs, with cocktails, ciders, wine, and prosecco alongside. The food list runs to pretzels with beer cheese, sausage, and schnitzel. A stein-holding competition is set for the Ballantyne weekend. Weekend music at Ballantyne includes the Little German Band and the Appalachian Freunde Polka Band. Boots go fast, so the early move is to claim one near the start of a weekend.

Our take: Claim a Das Boot early in the weekend, then eat pretzels or schnitzel while the Little German Band is on.

Parking

Ballantyne: OMB lot at 15025 Bowl Street, street parking on Lower Ave. and Upper Ave., garage at 13040 Ballantyne Corporate Place. Four-hour parking validation in Bowl areas after scanning the QR codes.
