About this event
Concord's holiday kickoff spans two days downtown. The tree lighting ceremony brings food trucks, a kids' zone, Santa and Mrs. Claus in a snow-filled Courthouse Plaza, live music on a main stage and a youth stage, and fireworks to end the night. The next afternoon the Concord Christmas Parade, one of the oldest continuously running Christmas parades in North Carolina, travels more than two miles along Church Street, Buffalo Avenue and Union Street, with school bands, churches and civic groups competing for awards.
Our take: Round out the weekend with a drive through the Speedway Christmas light show at Charlotte Motor Speedway, also in Concord.
