About this event
The Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade has been a Charlotte holiday tradition since 1947, and it now steps off after dark along Tryon Street in Uptown, running about a mile from 9th Street to Good Samaritan Way. What began as a local holiday parade has grown into a showcase of floats, celebrities, bands, balloons and performances, and it airs live on WCCB. Curbside viewing is free, reserved VIP seats are sold toward the end of the route, and the parade happens rain or shine.
Our take: Arrive around 4 to claim a spot up front on the sidewalk, as organizers recommend.
Parking
Uptown has about 50,000 on-street, deck and lot spaces, many at market rates on parade night. The LYNX Blue Line, CityLYNX Gold Line and Charlotte B-cycle also reach the route.
