About this event
Pumpkin picking at Carrigan Farms in Mooresville, about 30 minutes north of Charlotte in the Lake Norman area, is a once-a-year trip to cut a jack-o'-lantern straight off the vine. The farm grows acres of pumpkins, from big round orange ones to oblong fruit and some still showing green. Each hayride includes a stop in a real patch where everyone picks. The vines are slightly prickly, so gardening gloves or a pocket knife make the cut easier. Reservations are required.
Our take: Reserve before you drive out, and bring gardening gloves or a pocket knife for the prickly vines.
