About this event
The Carolina Renaissance Festival is a 25-acre open-air village in forest and meadows, where hundreds of costumed characters recreate a 16th-century European marketplace. Castles, cottages, kitchens, and pubs frame music, comedy, theater, handmade crafts, artisan demonstrations, games, and rides. Admission covers the shows, including tournament jousting, falconry presentations, a swimming mermaids exhibit, and a petting farm. Food, crafts, rides, and games are separate, and performers may take tips. Themed weekends add Pirates, Superheros, and Halloween on top of the renaissance schedule. A hand stamp lets you leave and return the same day.
Our take: Arrive for the pre-opening gate show if you want the full pageantry, and get a hand stamp if you need to walk back to the car.
Parking
No outside food or drink except one factory-sealed bottle of water per person. Hand stamp for same-day re-entry. Twenty ATMs in the village.

Saturdays and Sundays. Pre-opening gate show at 9:05 a.m.; gates 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Rain or shine unless extreme weather.
