About this event

The Helena Farmers Market is the longest-running market in Montana. It is the Saturday morning event for the community, stretching two full blocks in downtown Helena on Fuller Ave. Distinctly Montana magazine has named it Best of Montana in the event category. More than 350 Montana vendors rotate through the season, with local farmers, food vendors, and artisans bringing Montana-made products. Shoppers get local musicians, fresh floral arrangements, kettle corn, and food trucks. A shorter Tuesday market is held at Main Street Park in East Helena. Cash, credit, debit, and SNAP/EBT are accepted, with tokens issued from the market's card machine.

Our take: Follow the kettle corn and food-truck aromas down Fuller Ave, and use the market card machine if you want SNAP tokens for fruit and vegetables.

Good to know

SNAP tokens buy fresh fruits and vegetables only. No cash refunds on EBT or SNAP tokens. Debit and credit tokens are white, black, and blue; EBT tokens yellow and green; SNAP tokens red and brown.
