About this event

Since 1995, the Butte Farmers' Market has grown on West Park Street in Uptown Butte, between Park and Main and the Phoenix Building at Dakota Street, under Mainstreet Uptown Butte. It is known for hanging and bedding plants, farm eggs, fruit and vegetables from Butte-area gardens, Whitehall, Flathead cherries, Montana melons from fields near Scilip (formerly Dixon), Hutterite colonies near Choteau, and Hmong vegetable gardens in the Missoula and Bitterroot area. Baked goods, cut flowers, jams, honey, and Southwest Montana crafts fill out the stalls, but the focus stays on fresh food. The market coordinator, clipboard in hand, helps shoppers find what they need.

Our take: Look for the coordinator with the clipboard if you are hunting Flathead cherries, Scilip melons, or plants from a specific grower.

Good to know

Pets not allowed; service dogs only. No alcoholic beverages on the market site for sale or consumption. No vehicles in the market after 7:55 a.m. except assigned vehicle spaces.
