About this event

The Owámni Falling Water Festival at Father Hennepin Bluff Park in Minneapolis celebrates Indigenous culture, music, food, art and history in one of the Twin Cities' most culturally significant places. It honors Owámniyomni, the Dakota name for the falls, meaning "turbulent water." Visitors find Indigenous-owned food vendors, Indigenous artists and makers, nonprofit community partners, live musical performances, traditional dance, and hands-on games and art activities for all ages. The festival is supported by a grant from the Saint Anthony Falls Heritage Board.

Our take: Stay into the afternoon for Thunder Before the Storm with the Twin Cities Intertribal Dancers, followed by Lady Midnight and a community round dance.

Parking

ADA parking is on Main St. between SE 3rd Ave and SE 6th Ave at marked meters. Metro Transit bus lines 10 and 25 and the Metro E Line run near the park.
