About this event
World of Winter is a free outdoor festival that turns Downtown Grand Rapids into a winter playground for seven weeks, with large-scale art installations from international and local artists, interactive pieces, light art and live events. Installations spread across Ah-Nab-Awen Park, the illuminated Blue Bridge, Lyon Square's nightly projection show, Calder Plaza and Rosa Parks Circle, which also has ice skating and walking tours. Most installations are best experienced after dark, and most events fall on weekends.
Our take: Go on a Friday night for the food trucks at 555 Monroe, beside the family-friendly interactive displays in Sixth Street Park.
