About this event
America's Thanksgiving Parade, presented by Gardner White, travels three miles along Woodward Avenue in Detroit, from Kirby south to Congress, with celebrities, colorful floats, high-soaring balloons and thunderous bands. The parade is free and open to the public along most of its route. Last year's edition, themed Thanksgiving is Better in Detroit, featured 29 award-winning floats, six giant balloons and nine bands, with Mayor Mike Duggan and longtime WDIV anchor Devin Scillian as grand marshals.
