About this event

Maritime Museum Louisiana's Wooden Boat Festival lines the banks of the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville with more than one hundred classic boats and hundreds of spectator boats. Live bands play both days, and the Quick 'n' Dirty Boat Building Contest has up to 15 costumed teams build and race themed boats in a colorful parade, with trophies for the top finishers, Best in Show and the Subsurface Cruiser for the crew that sinks. A Children's Village offers balloon animals and pirogue and pumpkin painting.

Parking

Park anywhere around town or in the field on Main Street by the library, or park at Sam's in Covington and ride the shuttle.
