About this event
The Plaquemines Parish Fair & Orange Festival celebrates the parish's citrus and its other bounty at Historic Fort Jackson in Buras, with a carnival, a farmers market, arts and crafts booths and one huge food tent, where the festival association sells orange juice, hot chocolate, soft drinks and beer. It began in 1946 to promote the parish's citrus crop and has been held at Fort Jackson since returning in 2010.

Friday is carnival only; the full fair runs Saturday and Sunday.
