About this event
Santa on the Bayou is a Christmas celebration at the Los Isleños Heritage and Cultural Complex in St. Bernard Parish, where Santa has handed out some 25,000 gifts to children over its first 25 years. Recent editions have been festive drive-through evenings with scenic lights, beautifully decorated historic Isleño cottages, gifts for kids and food for the whole family. The host society has worked since 1976 to preserve the language, music and traditions of the Canary Islanders who settled in Louisiana in the late 1700s.
Our take: Arrive early, since Santa's gift giving lasts only until the presents run out.
Parking
Recent editions have been drive-thru only, with vehicles lining up on LA-46 at the complex's rear entrance.
