About this event

Wings Over the Delta is the inaugural Plaquemines Parish Birding Festival, held at Woodlands Conservancy in Belle Chasse, whose forested wetlands, walking trails and diverse wildlife habitat make an ideal setting. From the forested wetlands of the upper parish to the marshes and coastal habitats near the mouth of the Mississippi River, the parish is home to a wide variety of resident and migratory birds. The family-friendly day includes guided birding walks, bird banding, wildlife and nature programs, conservation exhibits, art vendors and kids' activities, for experienced birders and first-timers alike.

Our take: Come early and bring binoculars for the 6:30 a.m. Sunrise Birding Walk through Woodlands Conservancy.
