About this event
The Krewe of Janus, the Twin Cities' parade in Monroe, was established in 1983 by the Twin Cities' Jaycees and became an independent organization in 1989. The first parade drew an estimated 35,000 people. By 1993 the line had passed 100 units and about 80,000 spectators, and in 1994 the krewe cut entries to floats and marching units, fielding more than 50 floats for a crowd of about 90,000. The 2022 parade was estimated at more than 200,000 people.
Our take: Given crowd estimates that climbed past 200,000 in 2022, pick a viewing spot along the Monroe route well before the 6 p.m. roll.
