Jeffersontown Farmers Market

The City of Jeffersontown runs its farmers market at the Jeffersontown Pavilion on Watterson Trail, with the stated goal of linking producers directly with shoppers. Everything sold must be grown or produced in Kentucky, and the market committee aims for a balanced mix of fruits and vegetables, eggs, meats and cheese, plants and cut flowers, baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, herbs, sorghum, soaps, candles, crafts and ready-to-eat food. Summer brought occasional evening night markets at the pavilion.

Our take: Look for a jar of Kentucky sorghum, one of the market's more unusual staples, to take home.
