About this event

The Lexington Farmers' Market's flagship Saturday market sets up under the Fifth Third Pavilion in Henry A. Tandy Centennial Park, around the historic Old Courthouse downtown. The market grew out of an early-1970s fight, led by future mayor Pam Miller, to bring local produce into the heart of Lexington, and was established in 1975 as a cooperative run by its member farmers. On summer Saturdays more than 50 vendors attend, selling produce, meats and other farm goods; some come only for their specialty seasons, like mid-summer sweet corn or tomatoes. Crafts and art are not part of this farmers-only market.

Our take: Shop the pavilion, then walk a block or two to Main Street's downtown restaurants and the Old Courthouse square for brunch.
