Irvington Garden Club Farmers Market

Irvington Garden Club farmers markets have been going since 2000, growing from a handful of vendors along Washington Street to a gathering Indianapolis residents have named among the city's top markets. Nearly 100 vendors take over the middle north section of Ellenberger Park at 5301 East St. Clair Street, and many have been there since the beginning. Expect vine-ripened tomatoes, green peppers, fresh corn, new potatoes, peaches, apples, berries, cut flowers, bakery goods, herbs, hickory maple syrup, salsa, and honey, plus jewelry, carved gourds, and hand-thrown pottery. Grab lunch from a food vendor and listen for an Irvington group playing nearby.

Our take: Walk or bike if you can, and leave the car in the pool lot so you are not hunting a street spot near the park.
