About this event

The Oak Park Farmers' Market sets up in the Pilgrim Church parking lot on Lake Street, a block west of Ridgeland Avenue, every Saturday morning. A market tradition starts in the early hours of the morning, when a crew of donut makers makes old-fashioned cake donuts, coffee and juice in the church, with local nonprofits sharing the proceeds. Vendors include Brunkow Cheese, an artisanal cheesemaker since 1899, Chanticlare Farm, Finn's Ranch and Breadman Baking, and weekly bake sales, pop-ups and children's activities round it out.

Our take: Get there early for warm powdered-sugar donuts, which often sell out before noon, and a table near the bluegrass players.
