About this event

The Manchester Road Race, billed as An American Tradition, sends runners over a 4.737-mile Thanksgiving Day course on Main Street in Manchester. Recent champions include Edwin Kurgat and Weini Kelati, and the top two British finishers at the Great Manchester Run in England are invited to race. The race weekend also includes a Saturday health expo and the Little Manchester Road Race, and the main charitable goal is helping neighbors access affordable shelter.

Our take: Be ready to walk: unposted side streets off I-384 Exits 3 and 5 are open for parking, but spots fill up quickly, and Main Street closes at 5:30 a.m.

Parking

Park on unposted side streets or in Manchester public lots behind the stores on the east side of Main Street; cars on I-384 ramps will be towed. Roads crossing the course close at 9 a.m., and nearby I-384 exits close 9–11:30 a.m. Portable toilets at St. James Church lot, Linden Street by the shuttle stop and the top of Main Street by Mary Cheney Library.
