DCPA's A Christmas Carol

The DCPA Theatre Company stages its musical version of A Christmas Carol at the Denver Center's Wolf Theatre, using Richard Hellesen's adaptation of the Dickens story with original and traditional music and lyrics by David de Berry. The Denver Center calls the show essential to the holiday season in Denver, and The Denver Post has named it the region's best production. Expect Scrooge's night with the ghosts set to music, with period language and ghost scenes that can startle little ones, in a performance of about two hours with one intermission. The theatre recommends it for ages 6 and up, and one matinee offers ASL interpretation, audio description and open captioning.

Our take: If pre-Christmas performances look tight, the Denver Center says good seats and prices remain for the few shows after Christmas.
