Yosemite Celtic Festival & Fall Highland Games

The Yosemite Celtic Festival and Fall Highland Games, produced by Kimberly Vaughan Enterprises, is held in Oakhurst at the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. The weekend mixes Celtic music and Highland dance with athletic events, a Viking encampment, and a royal court. Athletes throw the caber, stone, hammer, sheaf, and weights. A Viking group stages living history and raids, King James VI and his court hold the pageantry, and a fairy village, Highland coos, archery, birds of prey, Irish wolfhounds, and clan row fill the grounds. A beard contest, whisky tasting, and pie eating contest are on the activity list.
