About this event
Schuster's Haunted Forest in Deerfield, at 1326 Highway 12 and 18 about eight miles east of Madison, starts with a ride into the woods and a walk to the forest entrance. The BARn pours craft beer, wine, and spiked hot drinks, and a bakery stays open late with apple cider donuts, farm-fresh pumpkin cake, caramel apples, soft pretzels, and brats. Bonfires are there for s'mores before or after a ticketed time, and groups over 15 can rent a private fire. Most time slots sell out, and tickets are rarely left at the farm.
Our take: Buy online early, because most time slots sell out and the farm rarely has leftover tickets at the gate.
Good to know
Opening night Sat 9/26, then Fridays and Saturdays through 10/31, plus Thursdays Oct 22 and 29. Bakery open until 10pm. Tickets rarely available at the farm.
