About this event
Lightin' Up Downtown is Kenosha's Christmas tree lighting and the official start of the holiday season, presented by the City of Kenosha with the Lakeshore Business Improvement District, and Visit Kenosha. A local family donates the evergreen, the Parks Department crew harvests it, and thousands of lights turn it on. Downtown streets get decorations and window displays, and the celebration adds a street market, entertainment, a drone light show, and Santa at the Rhode Center for the Arts. Shops stay open with extended hours afterward.
Our take: Use the city ramp at Eighth Avenue and 57th Street, then see Santa at the Rhode Center for the Arts after the lighting.
Parking
Parking downtown includes the city parking ramp at Eighth Avenue and 57th Street.
Good to know
Traditionally held the day after Thanksgiving. Shops open extended hours after the tree lighting.
