About this event

The Downtown Farmers Market was created in 1992 by the Downtown Alliance to bring positive activity to Pioneer Park, a 10-acre green space in downtown Salt Lake City, and has grown into what it calls Utah's largest community event. Its vendors include more than 100 farms and ranches from within 250 miles of the city, from 16 Utah counties, plus food entrepreneurs, many of whom started at the market. Pioneer Park renovations are under way, so the market follows a special site plan in and around the park.

Our take: Use the free first hour at The Gateway or ride TRAX to the Arena or Planetarium stops, since northbound 400 West closes during market hours.

Parking

Two-hour metered street parking on Saturdays; The Gateway offers the first hour free, then a fee. GREENbike dock in front of Caputo's; TRAX Arena and Planetarium stops are close by.

Good to know

Saturdays, 8 a.m.–2 p.m., at Pioneer Park, 350 S. 300 W. A winter market follows on Saturdays at 209 E. 500 S.
