About this event
The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm at Preston Trail Farms in Gunter has been a fall stop since 1997, drawing families from North Texas and Oklahoma to a site on the historic Shawnee Trail. Visitors pick pumpkins off the vine, take a scenic hayride, walk a 6-foot hay maze and visit the petting farm. The farm stays open year-round for feed and hardware, a cafe with burgers, sandwiches and seasonal treats, and a gift shop. It is family-run. The address is 15102 TX-289, also called Preston Road, just north of the DFW metroplex.
Our take: Pair the hayride and hay maze with a cafe stop, and leash any dog you bring, since well-behaved dogs are welcome.
