About this event
The Jackson County Youth Fair in Edna supports local youth with pageants, a downtown parade, livestock shows, and a carnival at the Brackenridge Main Event Center, 284 Brackenridge Parkway. A parade runs through downtown Edna. Show days cover heifers, swine, rabbits, fryers, goats, lambs, steers, bucket calves, and ag mechanics, plus the Noah's Way Petting Zoo and the Heart of America Carnival. Later nights add a calf scramble, Little Wrangler Rodeo, and mutton bustin, and the youth auction closes the competitive week. A senior-citizen luncheon is held at the Hafernick Center.
Our take: Catch the downtown Edna parade before you head to the grounds, then time a later visit for the carnival and mutton bustin.
Parking
Reserved buyers parking at the MEC is limited to a Saturday window.
Good to know
Grounds and indoor exhibits open on show days; carnival hours vary by day.
