About this event
Houston's marathon weekend fills downtown around the George R. Brown Convention Center, where the Health & Fitness Expo and packet pickup run Friday and Saturday. Saturday morning brings the We Are Houston 5K from McKinney and Crawford, and on Sunday the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon start at Congress and Fannin with elite and open fields. RunFest at Discovery Green's Jones Lawn hosts the charity and running club village on race day.
Our take: Spectators can make a morning of it at RunFest on Discovery Green's Jones Lawn, where the charity and running club village runs into the afternoon.
Parking
Parking is in privately owned lots and garages around the George R. Brown Convention Center; the Toyota Tundra Garage is three blocks away. Pay by card or the Houston parking app, since authorized attendants won't ask for cash.
Good to know
Fri expo 10am–6pm; Sat 5K 6:30am, expo 8:30am–5pm; Sun races start from 6:35am.
