About this event
Discovery Green's free Día de los Muertos celebration fills the Sarofim Picnic Lawn in downtown Houston to honor and remember deceased loved ones. Visitors can add a photo or keepsake to a community ofrenda created by Houston artist Angel Quesada, then enjoy a Catrin y Catrinas Parade and costume contest, traditional performances, live music, food, crafts and vendors. Organizers ask guests to bring copies rather than original photos, since they can't guarantee their return.
Our take: Stay for the finale, La Musical Ofrenda, a high-energy tribute concert to some of Houston's finest musicians and legendary Texas artists.
