About this event
On the first Friday night of December, Murfreesboro gathers around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse for the lighting of the Rutherford County Christmas tree, organized by Main Street Murfreesboro. The evening includes caroling, a live nativity and an hour-long program of choir music, dancing and acting before Santa lights the tree, then heads into the courthouse for photos. Children's activities and carriage rides run around the square.
Our take: Park in the Civic Plaza or County Judicial garages, since the square's parking closes in the afternoon, and make it a dinner-downtown night.
