Memphis Mushroom Festival

Memphis Mushroom Festival is an experiential nature festival held at Overton Park in Midtown Memphis, with monthly mycology classes and other events between festivals. The aim is to pull the mid-south together around sustainability, healthy food, and a clearer picture of what plant medicines offer, taught through self-sufficiency and self-care. Food and forays highlight what grows in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, and most speakers and leaders come from those states. The day stacks mycologists, workshops, local farms, chef tastings, guided forest forays, live music and DJs, yoga, and dancing, plus shopping for locally sourced meats, produce, and tinctures.

Our take: Pick one workshop or a chef tasting as the anchor, then use the foray and the local market as the rest of the Overton Park day.
