About this event
The International Blues Challenge is the Blues Foundation's worldwide search for bands and solo/duo acts ready for the international stage, and the world's largest gathering of blues musicians. Challengers who won local contests run by affiliated blues societies play quarterfinals and semifinals in more than 20 Beale Street clubs, with the finals at the Orpheum Theatre. The week also brings seminars, showcases, master classes, film screenings, book signings and a youth showcase.
Our take: Leave time for the Blues Foundation's Blues Hall of Fame Museum at 421 South Main Street, open Tuesday through Saturday.
