About this event
Deadweird is how Deadwood does Halloween, a weekend that is a little crazy, a little spooky, and built for costume watching. The Monster Ball at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center brings a live band, dancing, and a People's Choice costume contest, with winners announced at 9 and extra door prizes through the night. The costume contest and party at the Historic Franklin Hotel has judging in the hotel and music and dancing afterward. Both of those parties are 21 and up. Under-21 options include an all-ages Trunk or Treat at the Days of '76 Event Complex and KidWeird, with trick-or-treating, music, games, and a costume contest for ages 12 and under.
Our take: Send the kids to Trunk or Treat in the afternoon and KidWeird in the evening on Halloween, and come in costume or just come to watch.

Monster Ball Friday 7-10 PM and Franklin Hotel contest Saturday 6-10 PM, both 21+. Trunk or Treat 4-6 p.m. KidWeird 5-8 PM.
