About this event
Pittsburgh's Jingle Bell Run starts and finishes on North Shore Drive outside the Hyatt Place hotel, with a chip-timed 5K, an untimed 1-mile walk and a Kids Reindeer Dash. Beyond the age-group medals, its Steel Spirit Awards honor finishers by iconic Pittsburgh numbers rather than speed, such as the 21st across the line for Roberto Clemente, the 57th for Heinz and the 66th for Mario Lemieux. Friendly, leashed dogs and strollers are welcome.
Our take: If your team qualifies for a reserved team tent, arrive early on race morning to decorate it as a gathering spot for teammates and family.
