About this event
The Manheim Community Farm Show, at 502 Adele Avenue next to Manheim Central High School in Manheim, Pennsylvania, promotes agriculture, crafts, and competition in a family setting. A farm show tradition in town dates to the 1920s, first in the basement of the Waughtel Moving Picture House on West Ferdinand Street, then under tents on Market Square. The present association was reorganized in the early 1950s. The week includes a farm show parade, a children's parade, a queen competition, livestock, and Friday Night Lights. Food stands line the avenue near Rettew Field and Veterans Memorial Park. It is set as the first full week of October, the week after the New Holland Fair.
Our take: Park on the grounds and walk the food stands near Rettew Field if you want to eat between the livestock shows and the parade.
