About this event
The Apple Festival at Little Buffalo State Park is put on by the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation at Shoaff's Mill Day Use Area in Newport. The draw is Shoaff's Mill, which still grinds corn as it has for nearly 200 years, alongside demonstrators such as spinners and weavers. The food centers on fresh pressed apple cider, warm apple butter and fresh baked cornbread, with an afternoon of food, fun and entertainment around the mill.
Our take: Time your visit to catch Shoaff's Mill grinding corn, and sample the fresh cider, apple butter and cornbread while you are there.
Parking
Pet friendly.
