About this event
Pure Terror Scream Park in Monroe calls itself the best haunted house near New York City and rebuilds themes, sets, and scares each season with Hollywood-style effects. There are no entry time slots: arrive any time during posted hours, but the gates close on the dot and a late arrival is turned away. About 90 percent of the attractions are indoors, and the park stays open in the rain unless officials shut it down. The Terror Shop in the Monster Courtyard sells shirts, hats, and collectibles. Photos are banned inside the haunts and welcome on the midway.
Our take: Arrive at least 15 minutes before the posted close, and earlier if you want to beat the line, because a few minutes late means no entry at all.
